David & Mavic (144 of 260).jpg

Mavic and I met in the fall of 2013. Our friends set us up. Because we have mutual friends we were actually at a few events at the same time but we just never crossed paths. After corresponding through emails for two weeks, she agreed to go on a date with me at none other then Tio Leo's Mexican Restaurant. We drove separately though and we just met there in the parking lot. (I often joke that she decided to drive on her own just in case I turned out to be a psycho she can just leave).  Well I must have been okay in her eyes because she agreed to a second date and this time I picked her up.

Our second date we went to go watch a movie. It was our first movie date. We both like Sandra Bullock so we went to go see "Gravity". Neither one of us like the film, but it was enjoyable sitting closely next to each other and plus, you can never go wrong with popcorn and nachos. After that we started dating regularly and did for fourteen months. As we were getting closer I opened up to her about a few things. One, I told her that I was a struggling artist, an independent filmmaker. I told her that I am not going to give up my passion for screenwriting and film and if she wanted to be with me then she has to accept me as I am. And she did. It turns out that she has been an extraordinary helpmate in all my film endeavors. She organizes all my chaos.

We got engaged on January 30, 2015 and celebrated at Universal Studios, my favorite theme park, of course. We were married on June 6, 2015.  It was partially a movie themed wedding and we gave little Oscar statuettes  that says "Best Wedding" to all the guest. The Lord has blessed me with a very loving, supporting wife who always laughs at my jokes. In 2016 I produced a film titled "Uncle Reesie" and it's a story about how we met.

These two photos were taken on the Walk Of Fame near Universal Studios on June 7, 2015. It was at a mall and they were setting up for the Jurassic World premiere. In just a few hours from when this photo was taken, all the cast and crew from the blockbuster film would be arriving. Mavic and I were not able to stay. We had to head back to our hotel. We were actually on our honeymoon at this time. Originally we were supposed to go to Cabo San Lucas for a week long honeymoon but at the time there was a hurricane there and all plane flights were cancelled. So, since we have year passes to Universal Studios we decided to go there for a few days.
